Branch Gymnastics Travels to the Twistars Invitational 2007
The Branch Gymnastics optional girls’ teams traveled to Lansing, MI to participate in the Twistars Invitational hosted by Twistars USA Gymnastics. The competition hosted clubs from across the country providing a strong field of gymnasts.
The Level 7 team started out the weekend for Branch Gymnastics and put up some big scores. In the 13 & up age division Anna Lucas took 2nd place on Bars with a 9.125 and finished 4th in the All-Around with a 35.825. Alex King turned in three strong routines finishing 3rd on Vault (9.2), 4th on Bars (9.0), and 2nd on Floor with score of 9.2. In the 12 year old age division Kennadie Gensch came up big with a 3rd place finish in the All Around with a 36.225. Kennadie also finished 3rd on Vault and Bars with a 9.225 and a 9.0 respectively. Teammate Maija Paldan was outstanding on Bars finishing 2nd with a 9.225. Julia Meeker competed in the 11 year old age division and had a powerful vault that earned her a 9.025 and a 2nd place finish. In the 10 and under age division Marrianne Douglas topped the competition with a 1st place finish on Vault with a big score of 9.425. Emily Freybler swung her way to the top of the field with a 9.15 on Bars.
The Level 8 team, although hampered by some minor injuries, brought home some top-notch scores. In the 11 and under age division Julia Fiore and Kayla DePierre finished in the 3rd and 4th spot in the All Around with a 36.45 and a 36.35 respectively. Julia also danced her way to a 1st place finish on Floor with a 9.35. Kayla took 2nd place on Bars with a 9.3 and 3rd place on Vault with a 9.25.
Sammy Veenkant, Level 9, brought home a 5th finish on Beam with an 8.65. Level 9 teammate Jennifer Root finished in the 10th spot on Vault with an 8.95. Kaylee Woodmansee, Level 10, turned in a 9.1 on Vault finishing in 7th place.
